About Erich

Growing up, I was always the one that my friends opened up to about their problems with family, social struggles, or general stress. Eventually, I realized the way I was connecting with them was something that I enjoyed, and was possibly a gift. As I began to ponder a career, I knew I wanted to do something that helped people. I thought about being a teacher, or a nurse, but eventually decided on psychology and becoming a therapist. I knew that it would take more than me just being a patient listener, offering a safe space and good advice.

As I began my advanced degrees, I gained the knowledge and skill I would need to be able to work with the various populations throughout my career such as children, families, young adults, LGTBQIA+ folks, couples, groups and individuals. Throughout the last 27 years, I’ve honed my skills in psychodynamic work, with focuses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and becoming a Level 1 Internal Family Systems practitioner. I was fortunate to join a group practice where I practiced for 15 years. Even though I became a supervisor, trainer, program coordinator, and eventually Clinical Director, my main love has always been the face-to-face clinical work with clients. So in 2018, I set out to create Summit Psychotherapy, where I could focus on creating a healing space to do just that.

I’m grateful for the experience of working with clients both short-term and long-term as they strive towards their growth and reaching potentials. I welcome you to join the journey with me if you are looking to get started.
